Your registration includes:
- Thursday evening pizza or other finger food
- Friday and Saturday catered dinners (one Mexican; one homestyle American )
- Morning snacks available to enhance motel breakfasts
Lunch on your own (Friday in one of West Libertyʼs downtown restaurants: Mexican, American; average price $8.00-$15.00. Saturday: Childrenʼs Festival (street food)
Lodging is available in motels in Muscatine and Iowa City, both about 17 miles from West Liberty. We recommend Muscatine because it’s the weekend of the Iowa/Iowa State football game and Iowa City hotel prices will be vastly inflated. We’ve made arrangements with the Comfort Inn in Muscatine. They will hold a block of rooms until August 10, so make sure you say you’re with the puppet festival. Queen rooms (2 beds) and King rooms (1 bed and fold-out couch) are $85.00 plus tax (total $95.20).
There is also a nice campsite on the Muscatine County Fairgrounds in West Liberty (5-10 minute walk from downtown): campsites $25.00 a night. Let us know if you want to reserve a spot!
Some local residents are offering free-of-charge guest rooms to festival registrants or their yard as a place to pitch a tent (with bathroom privileges). If you’d like to stay in town, let us know. These opportunities will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
